1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Stratton Recycling website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Services Provided

Stratton Recycling purchases and recycles catalytic converters, batteries, spark plugs, O2 sensors, and other automotive components containing precious metals. We also sell exhaust components and related automotive parts through our online shop. Pricing for recyclable materials is based on current precious metal market rates and XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis.

3. Quotations and Pricing

Prices displayed on our platform are estimates based on typical Platinum Group Metal (PGM) content for the identified converter code. The final purchase price is confirmed only after physical inspection and XRF testing of the actual item. We reserve the right to adjust prices based on the verified precious metal content and prevailing market conditions.

4. Collection and Drop-Off

We offer bulk collection services for larger quantities and drop-off for smaller amounts. Collection appointments are subject to driver availability and scheduling. While we provide live GPS tracking for en-route collections, estimated arrival times are approximate and not guaranteed. You must ensure items are accessible and ready for collection at the agreed time.

5. Payments and Payouts

Payouts for recycled materials are processed via your selected method (EFT, cash, or other). EFT payments are made to your registered banking details. Payout processing times depend on your bank. Shop orders are processed securely through our payment gateway (Yoco). All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

6. Shop Orders

Orders placed through our online shop are subject to stock availability. We reserve the right to cancel or refund orders where items are out of stock. Prices and availability may change without notice. Invoices are available for download from your account after purchase.

7. Membership and Loyalty Programme

Registered members may participate in our loyalty programme, which includes tier-based benefits and giveaway entries. Tier status is calculated based on total verified earnings. Giveaway entries are earned through recycling activity during active earning periods. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the loyalty programme at any time.

8. Compliance and Legal Requirements

All transactions are conducted in accordance with South African law, including the Second-Hand Goods Act and VAT regulations. We maintain SAPS Second-Hand Goods Register entries and VAT 264 forms for all applicable transactions. Sellers must provide accurate identification and information. We reserve the right to refuse service if there is suspicion of stolen or illegal goods.

9. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your details up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform — including logos, text, graphics, software, and data — is the property of Stratton Recycling or its licensors and is protected by South African intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

Stratton Recycling shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the transaction in question. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms take effect immediately upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
